Spreadsheets can be used to populate tables in web pages. However, it is important to note that the data contained in, for example, a source Excel worksheet cannot normally be updated dynamically from the web page. The data used to create the web page table is known as snapshot data. There are several alternative sources to create a web page table, for example, an Excel worksheet, a Google Sheet or a MySQL database. Below is an application created using the Spreadsheet Converter addin from within Excel and exported as a web page which can be updated. Virtually any Excel spreadsheet can be converted using this tool but because of security issues, macros are not allowed.
